Commons:Image copyright tags needed
[edit]For Image:2 SPN 01.jpg and other images you upload. If those tags are not specified, the images will unfortunately have to be deleted - see our policy above.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 00:43, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Image names
[edit]Vitam Shalom Alechem, could you use nicer image names than Image:169 2 a.jpg and the likes? It's much easier to work with images in gallery, articles and everywhere els if they have a real-language title that says something about what is depicted on the image, in this case, a good name would have been: Image:Warsaw Stock Exchange 1880.jpg. It's easy: simply put a good name in the "Destination filename:" field in the upload form. Thanks in advance. --AndreasPraefcke 19:13, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, you wrote that this is a photo from www.rondo1.pl. Unfortunately, there is no such server (or server is down). Could you please double check that the URL is correct? Thuresson 01:02, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
There is indeed such a webpage - and it clearly states that all rights are reserved! I have tagged the image as copyvio, it will be deleted. -- Duesentrieb(?!) 13:23, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
I have also tagged Image:Bialystok Ogrod.jpg and Image:3 Stary Lichen 44.jpg ans {{Unknown}}, because all I see at http://www.poczta-polska.pl/mw is "all rights reserved". -- Duesentrieb(?!) 13:29, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Category Poland
[edit]Please don't add Category:Poland, and others if the image is somewhere in category and article system system. For example, if image is in Category:Castles in Poland, don't add cat. Poland, beause cat. Castles in Poland is in it. Images from Polish cities and villages are in articles in Category:Cities and villages in Poland.
If you speak Polish, please read Commons:Bar#Polskie_kategorie Meteor2017 20:40, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Upload full resoultion variants
[edit]You have uploaed many images from Wikipedia in lower resolution then the images available there. For example, Image:800px-TatryWysokie1.jpg is a lower resolution version of w:Image:TatryWysokie1.jpg. Note that many images have the 'Download high resolution version' link below the picture, please use those. Then use the w:Template:NowCommons to indicate to other users in Wikipedia that this image is now in commons.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 03:30, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Some of your old images will be deleted

Poland
[edit]Why do you changr oldest polsih Cathedral, place of burial of many polish rulers into minor church in Warsaw? Why, in biggest cities in Poland, You are changing bigger Poznań into smaller Gdańsk? Radomil talk 11:52, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
Why ary You compearing only Poznań (without Poznań Aglomeration - 0ver 0,9 mln inhabitants) with whole Tricity (0,88 mln inh.)? If You want to count Aglomerations, it shold be nor Poznań or Gdańsk but Katowice, Chorzów or Bytom.
As for church. Warsaw is already overrepresented in there (all four Palaces from Warsaw...) . Poznań's Cathedral is much more importand than Wizytek church. It should be page about POLAND, not Warsaw, or Your esthetic feelings. Chose of pictures shold be merithoric, artistic vison is secondary thing. Commons is not Art Gallery but repository of files that ilustrates topics, in this case - Poland. I will change it if You have more convincing arguments to not do that. Remember that this is common project, with many authors and their visions. Radomil talk 10:18, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Mickiewicz28.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Mickiewicz28.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. skINMATE 20:10, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Images from pl-wiki
[edit]If you want to copy an image from other Wikipedias, you have to provide full license info, including author (and BTW insert {{NCT}} template into the original picture description)! Xxx in Poland from Polish Wikipedia is not enough, because when it will be deleted on pl-wiki all license info will be gone. Vindicator 09:34, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Warszawa
[edit]Witam,
Sfu 15:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:0064.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
Thank you. Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 01:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:KosciolEwangielicki01.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:KosciolEwangielicki01.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
